Well adapted to local (San Diego), frost-free climate.  Likes sharply drained, lean soil.  Place in part to full sun and protect during extreme heat of late summer.  Winter grower.  No irrigation required, thriving on winter rains alone.  Water sparingly in summer.  When leaves are well shriveled, soak then withhold water for several weeks.  Do not water during the hottest months (late Summer, early Autumn).

Regular water in autumn through to spring. Water minimally in summer, only when the plant starts shrivelling but it will generally grow even in summer if given water. Requires good drainage. Keep cool and shaded in summer, needs full sun or light shade. Hardy to -2°C (or less)

Winter grower. Never soak.  Culture similar to Lithops.  Water in summer.  Overwatering can cause the leaves to split. Argyroderma prefer a well-drained loamy soil; they don’t like frequent repotting and can be grown in relatively small pots for years. They are propagated by seed or division of multi-headed plants.
